What is a phinisi wedding and how many guests fit?

Resort or boat — how do we decide?

Can we say our vows on Padar Island?

Legality
Is our Labuan Bajo wedding legally binding?
Only if you take the legal path: a religious ceremony plus state registration at the KUA or Civil Registry, with embassy paperwork lodged in advance. Most destination couples instead hold a symbolic ceremony here and register at home — both routes are compared in the marriage legality guide.
What paperwork does the legal path require?
Passports, birth certificates, a Certificate of No Impediment from each foreign partner’s embassy, evidence any previous marriage ended, sworn translations, two witnesses, and registry lodgement around ten days before the ceremony. Start 2–3 months out.

When is the best time of year to marry in Labuan Bajo?
April through October — the dry season — with July and August as the peak for both weather and demand. December to March weddings work at resorts with indoor backups, and shoulder months often buy peak-quality sunsets with easier availability.
How do our guests get there, and what do they do between events?
